dusk to dawn

the morning came

and i woke up

loving you still

and then the sun washed away

all the storm

the previous night

had brought

but the sun couldn't wash away

the darkness

hidden away in my soul

the harrowing thoughts

i had tucked away

the sun couldn't reach inside

the cracks of myself

i had long before

sewn shut

(and to think, this hurt more than loving you.)
